Assistant Coach Emily P.

Emily is a first-year Assistant Coach for BYVC’s 17U and 18U teams and loves sharing her passion and expertise for the sport. Despite her relatively short competitive coaching career, Emily has already gained a wealth of experience through her previous work coaching Spikes and House League teams, as well as helping Sandy out with the Junior boys and girls teams at Paris District High School.

Emily’s love for coaching stems from her own experience playing competitively with BYVC from the age of 12 to 18. She continued on at the post-secondary level with the Mohawk Mountaineers and gained experience as a college athlete under the guidance and leadership of coach Mathew Schnarr who also broadened and influenced her coaching perspective. She knows firsthand the transformative power that the sport can have on young athletes and is dedicated to passing down the lessons she learned to the next generation.

One of her fondest memories was playing for Brantford with BYVC at the International Children’s Games in Alkmaar, Holland in 2015, and she’s eager to help create similar experiences for the girls she works with today.
