Exhibition Tournament for TLS Boys – Vortex

Great exhibition tournament for our TLS Boys Brant Vortex on February 21! Thank you to Scorpions for hosting us at the Impact Training Centre in Kitchener!

We came out as overall winners for the day! Winning all three games against the other three teams at the tournament.

Game 1: Played EVP (25-11 win), (13-25 loss), (15-13 win)
Game 2: Played FCVC (12-25 loss), (25-19 win), (16-14 win)
Game 3: Played Scorpions (25-19 win), (26-24 win) and played a third set to 15 for extra practice (6-15 loss)

Excellent hustle, setting and serving today from Jordyn! Great net play and blocks from Jackson! Good hitting and 100% serving Cooper! Fantastic jump serves and hustle from Dexton! Great passing from Owen! Good play at the net Levi! Excellent court talk and some bullet serves/aces from Jack! Good setting and serving from Charlie! Great hits and serves Andres!

We also participated in a passing competition, finishing second place to FCVC by one point!

15U Select Teams play in SWIVIL 15U Tournament…

The BYVC 15U Select Teams 1 and 2 played their second SWIVIL tournament in Cambridge today.

Both teams are progressing well and enjoying tournament volleyball. Playing 5 matches in one day is lots of work and all the players are improving with each point they play and will be back there in two weeks to do it all again.

We appreciate their efforts!!

4v4 Co-ed Team in McGregor Cup Tournament…

Our 4v4 Co-ed team had their 3rd tournament of the season on Feb. 8th at Paris District High School, hosted by BYVC.

They passed, set and hit their way into some exciting rallies showing off what we’ve been working on in practice.

2nd Medal of the Season for 15U Girls – Storm!!!

After success at our previous OVA tournament, the team moved up to Trillium White and entered the McGregor Cup seeded 9 of 9—and they made a statement right away.

The morning kicked off with a straight-set win over 3rd-ranked Niagara Rapids Summit, followed by a victory against 4th-ranked Unity Resilience.

Storm finished 1st in pool play and met Reach Rise after lunch, securing another 2-set win to advance to the semifinals.

In the semis, Storm defeated EVP Eagles Fury in two sets, earning a spot in the finals against Grimsby Vipers Invasion. The team battled hard but came up just short, finishing the day with a silver medal 🥈—an incredible result in a higher division for the Underdogs.

👏 Shout-outs of the day:

  • Defensive Player of the Day: #42 Lily T. — fought for every point, made clutch saves, and was always there to pick up the slack.
  • Offensive Player of the Day: #8 Bridget D. — brought constant positivity, consistent hitting, and strong passing throughout the day.

So proud of this group and their continued growth! They are proof that hard work, team spirit and true friendships really make a difference on the court.💙⚡

17U Girls – Aftershock Take Bronze in McGregor Cup Tournament!!

In the McGregor cup held Feb 1 at St.Clair College in Windsor, Brant Aftershock finished second in pool play defeating the Chatham Ballhawks 2 sets to 1 and losing 2 straight to St. Thomas Express Spikes.

They faced London Sharks Fury in the quarterfinals defeating them in 2 straight sets. In the semifinals, they faced Norfolk Chaos Empower and lost a very tight match in 3 sets.

That placed them in the bronze medal game where they once again faced St. Thomas, but this time came out victorious winning in 3 sets to take home the bronze! Great effort everyone!!

16U Girls – Riptide Plays in 17U McGregor Cup Tournament…

Riptide played up a division for the first time at the 17U McGregor Cup, taking on a tough challenge while missing three regular players.

This group showed real resilience, competitiveness, and growth throughout the tournament. While the final results weren’t what we hoped for, most sets were extremely close and could have gone either way – an exciting sign of what’s ahead.

Award Winners:

Sloane #16 – Net Presence Award…Most kills and blocks, going on a great serving run and making a big impact at the net all day.

Audrey #8 – Top Scorer Award…Led the team in total points scored with consistent offensive production, excellent serving and hitting stats.

Scarlett #3 – Heart & Hustle Award…Infectious energy and positivity that lifted the team in every match.

Special thanks to Diane and Reegan from the U15 Storm for stepping up and contributing.

Proud of the fight, the effort, and the willingness to take on challenges. We’ll learn from this tournament and keep building.

16U Girls – Synergy Take Bronze in 17U McGregor Cup Tourney!!

Worth the drive to Chatham. Bronze for these ladies playing up in 17U Trillium White: McGregor Cup.

The girls had a great pool play this morning winning first game in two sets and the second game in three sets. They went on to win in quarters.

In semis they played a 3-set nail biter and moved on to the bronze medal game.  Very excited to watch them win bronze.

4v4 Girls – Cyclone Play in McGregor Cup Tournament…

The 4v4 Girls headed to St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School in Maple for their 3rd tournament of the season. They showcased everything they learned. We continued to improve at using 3 touches and swinging at more balls from the last tournament. Good job girls!

TLS Girls – Outburst Takes Home Silver…

On Saturday, January 24th, TLS Outburst claimed another silver medal to add to the collection at Holy Trinity in Simcoe!

After going undefeated all morning and finishing first in their pool, Outburst went straight to the quarter finals after lunch. They faced West Elgin Warriors Courage and came out on top earning a spot in the semifinals.

The girls played an exciting semi-final game against Norfolk Chaos Chill and used their communication and visualization skills to get to the gold medal match!

Facing Twin Bridges Thunder Boom Red in the final, Outburst knew it would be a challenge. After going down 23-25 in the first set, they came back strong to win set two 25-18 allowing them a chance to take it all in the third set.

A nail biting third set left the girls coming up short to a 15-17 loss but an amazing game, nonetheless.

The coaches are so proud to have earned another medal and they look forward to perfecting our new 6-2 rotation for the next tournament! #letsgooutburst 🧡💙🧡💙🧡💙🧡
